About ME
I’m a multidisciplinary theatre-making enigma specializing in new work development and performance. Through audacious live spectacle, I carve out a sometimes confounding and always delightful forum which invites audiences to grapple with their own epistemologies of perception, societal convention, and self-expression.
After training in the International Performance Ensemble at Pace University’s Sands School of Performing Arts in NYC, my art has chiefly been channeled through self-producing original work as my drag alter ego Michelle Chakra for over 9 years, as well as writing and developing plays and working as an actor in theatre and tv/film. Now based back in my hometown of Ojai, California, I’m focused on engaging my community in action and fostering my own bold theatrical vision. In collaboration with local theatre company Method Machine Lab, I work as an actor (Jordan in Significant Other; Cuddy in Witch), host a dazzling Drag Queen Bingo throughout the year, and serve as a member of the board. I am also on staff at the Ojai Playwrights Conference, a premiere new work festival that takes place every summer.
Separate from my own creations, my work also includes artistic facilitation and guided support to harness your potential and give yourself the permission to actualize your vision. Let’s talk!
